Synopsis

Grand Prix – Cannes Film Festival 2025

The film is an intimate and moving exploration of family, memory, and the reconciliatory power of art. Two sisters, Nora and Agnes, while mourning the loss of their mother, must also come to terms with the return of their father, Gustav. He has written a screenplay and offers the leading role to Nora, but she refuses. The previous film by the award-winning Norwegian director, The Worst Person in the World, premiered in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for two Academy Awards, as well as for a BAFTA for Best Actress and Best International Film.
