ΤΟ ΠΑΙΔΙ ΚΑΙ ΤΟ ΔΕΛΦΙΝΙ (BOY ON A DOLPHIN) (1957)

Synopsis

On the island of Hydra, Phaedra dives to collect sponges from the sea floor. During one of her dives, she discovers an ancient sculpture of immense value — a symbol of honor for the locals, lost for at least 2,000 years. To her, it is nothing more than a treasure that could bring her great wealth, but her final decision is torn between two potential recipients: an honest archaeologist who intends to hand it over to the Greek authorities, and a ruthless dealer of art and historical artifacts who plans to sell it abroad. The first feature film shot in Greece (on Hydra, Athens, Rhodes, Delos, Mykonos, Poros, Epidaurus, and Meteora) by an American studio — 20th Century Fox — in stunning color CinemaScope.
